Heroes Of Islam

Every nation has its own heroes. Some are real while others are mythical; either way, these heroes are a source of admiration and even adoration by some.

Every nation has its own heroes. Some are real while others are mythical; either way, these heroes are a source of admiration and even adoration by some.

Muslims have no need to look for fictitious or mythical heroes because our history is abundant with heroes of real flesh and blood. All the heroes of Islam share two very special traits;

  • Full conviction and dedication to their pristine faith.
  • Constant attempt to seek the pleasure of Allah regardless of the circumstances.

In this book, the author takes us through a colourful and exemplary history of Muslim heroes, from the four righteous caliphs, other eminent Sahaba, followers of the companions like Umar ibn Abdul Aziz and Al Hassan Al-Basri, religious scholars like the four Imams, An-Nawawi and Bukhari, reformers like Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi, Jamaluddin Al-Afghani, and scientists like Ibn Khaldun and Ar-Razi.

Throughout the book, the author IMMORTALIZES not only their lives but the sacrifices and superb display of virtues which would endear one to the truth of Islam. For instance the case of Ali (RA) when he was the caliph, he had a case with a certain Jew regarding a Coat of Arms the Jew had taken from him and instead of taking matters into his own hands, he brought the case before the Judge. The judge ruled in favour of the Jew since Ali’s only witnesses were his children and servant Rafi’.

Ali willingly accepted the judgment; this impressed the Jew so much that he announced his acceptance of Islam and returned the coat of Arms which he had wrongly taken. Ali gave it back to him as a gift.

This is a book that brings out exemplary role models in Islam, role models who represent the ideal lifestyle, practices and beliefs that are required of Muslims. The efforts and sacrifices of these people for the sake of Allah’s religion will show us who we are and what we really are capable of when we have a strong belief in Allah.
