What next after becoming a Muslim?

The next step, after taking a bath is to organize acquisition of basic Islamic Knowledge. Our Introduction To Islam course offers the prerequisite every New Muslim needs to take the necessary steps in learning Islam.

In cases of reverts who need to undergo circumcision, the necessary steps are put in place to ensure this is done.

A New Muslim is also entitled to a “starter package” which is a gift courtesy of IICK which has a prayer book, prayer mat and other items which basically assist them to “Know Islam” even while at work or at home

There are several things however we advice a New Muslim to do so as to get closer to Islam:

• Shun bad company and try to get to know other Muslims who will always teach and encourage him to learn Islam.
• To do his best in performing obligatory prayers in congregation in the mosque. Closeness builds affection and the more one visits the mosque the more he is likely, in sha Allah, to love Islam more.
• Read the translation of the Qur’an so he gets to know more about the commands and prohibitions in Islam.
• For New Muslims who are still putting up with their folks or guardians who may have a particular dislike for Islam, we always suggest taking things a step at a time.
