This is a book that explores the Muslim personality as Islam meant it to be, and all quotations in it are derived from authentic sources in the Quran and Ahaadeeth.
Perhaps what necessitated this kind of book, as the author explains was the disparity between what Islam requires or demands of a Muslim and what the Muslim does in action or deed contrary to these teachings. It explains how a Muslim in his natural disposition may be devoting too much time in worship and pursuit of knowledge but is neglecting his children’s upbringing. As such, the book aims to strike a balance in a Muslim’s life in such a way that he is a living example of the correct image of Islam.
The books takes us through nine stages; the Muslim and his Lord, his own self, his parents, his wife, his children, his relatives, neighbours, friends and his community/society in general.
Whoever takes time to study the guidance of Allah and his Prophet (pbuh) by consulting the Qur’an and Ahaadeeth will be amazed at how much comprehensive information is found there dealing with all aspects of a Muslim covering the above nine sections. All this guidance is aimed at enabling a Muslim to enjoy an ideal life both as an individual and as a member of the larger society.
This is exemplified by what the prophet (pbuh) did at the beginning of his Da’awah, when his first step was to mould individuals who would embody Islam and become unique role models. Many people embraced Islam due to the sincerity and good conduct of these individuals.
The books seeks to guide a Muslim towards attaining decent values and honour in his life as he portrays the perfect embodiment of the most complete way of life, Islam. It is only through setting himself right that a Muslim can confidently and without blemish call others to Islam.
